      Verdict

      STEPNEY finished well clear of the rest when runner-up over today’s trip at Lingfield on her debut. Robyn Brisland’s filly was beaten only a length by a horse rated 73 and that looks stronger form than Pondering’s debut fifth at Newbury in October. The latter steps up in distance here along with Haldaw but Mick Channon’s charge has shown no worthwhile form so far and neither has Cookie's Star or Dashanti.
