Verdict

Classic Villager has claims boasting a much higher handicap rating than Goolagong Girl. But a couple of the less-exposed types will not to have improve much to catch up and that includes Life Less Ordinary, who was sent off favourite here on his debut but could only manage fifth. Brosnan is another expected to improve after staying on late in better company at York a fortnight ago but the newcomer COCKER is just preferred. He's a brother to high-class stayer Brown Panther so, given the latter made a winning debut over today's trip on the all-weather, Tom Dascombe's colt gets the vote.
