Coupe De Champagne included a course and distance success in last month’s double but has something to prove off her current mark judged on a recent effort at Lingfield. A couple of these arrive on the back of wins over a shorter trip here but Bodroy is upped in class and HOST makes more appeal having won with plenty in hand when giving the impression this extra distance will suit. Mirage Mac and Coul Queen are others upped in trip with the former preferred on last year’s winning form.
Coul Queen (IRE) 50-1 (9-0) Held up, headway under pressure 2f out, plugged on in modest 3rd final furlong, 3rd of 10, 8 1/4l behind Zeyaadah (9-0) at Newmarket 1m lst fll stks (1) hvy in Oct.
Mirage Mac 7-1 (8-8) Led 3f, chased winner, ridden 2f out, lost 2nd over 1f out, weakened final furlong, 3rd of 4, 4 1/4l behind Albadri (9-7) at Southwell 1m hcp (3) pol in Jan.
