A race where it should pay to concentrate on the top half of the card, and this could well end up being fought out between Charnwood Street and Adalpour. The latter won over course and distance last time out in a seller, but looked particularly at home over the trip and was good value for just over two lengths. A 5lb rise seems a pretty fair assessment by the handicapper and he can take advantage and follow up here. Charnwood Street will probably not be too far away either, now that he has tumbled down the weights and showed something of a return to form at Southwell the other day. However, he is still a relative novice at this sort of trip and is still best watched just at present. The veteran Jamaican Flight has been a fine servant and has won two similar contests over course and distance already this month. However a 6lb penalty for the latest of those does not bode well for a repeat today. Bhutan is a doubtful stayer over this trip on the level and also has a 6lb penalty, so is passed over, while recent Southwell winner Hajeer should be a better proposition given that Luke Fletcher takes 5lb of a 6lb penalty off his back. He seems to handle the track well enough and should be thereabouts again.
