Doc Sportello beat much higher rated horses, including Bowson Fred and Royal Birth, to win a conditions race at Newcastle but has paid the price and has a 16lb hike in the weights to contend with. Jordan Sport has been winning over 6f but beat Sign of The Kodiac at Lingfield last time while Judicial went close at Haydock in September and Ascot winner Shamshon will have come on for a recent comeback run. The same comment also applies to BOOM THE GROOM (NAP), a creditable third in Listed company recently which should set him up nicely as he attempts to repeat his success in this race last year.
