    Verdict

    RICH BELIEF passed the post first at Haydock on last week’s handicap debut but was demoted to second having bumped into a rival in the closing stages. On a brighter note, he can race off the same mark today and James Bethell’s colt had earlier won a novices race over course and distance. Above defied a penalty to win in novice company at Musselburgh and it looks a close call between him and the selection but Dark Silver will need to step up on his latest effort at Goodwood to figure.
