In depth

Verdict

Empty Promises went close over track and trip on his debut but was well beaten back here last time. Ghost Buy looked an improved horse on his reappearance at Newcastle and steps up in trip while Wise Words made a promising start when runner-up at Newcastle but has been done no favours by the draw. PHOSPHOR returns to action but has the strongest form having gone close at Newbury last year - Martyn Meade’s Irish 2000 Guineas entry may prove good enough in this. The 800,000gns purchase Global Prospector is a speedily-bred Scat Daddy colt and a newcomer to note.
