Verdict

There's an extremely poor turnout for this handicap of just four runners that should be played out between the two three-year-olds, who have terms firmly in their favour, and out of the pair PENANG PRINCESS has less to prove and is given the vote over Spiekeroog; John Forbes is the best of the remaining duo. After being slightly outclassed in a top handicap at York last time the pick is probably best judged on his back-to-back successes prior to that run where the latest at Kempton proves his liking from this surface and suitability for this trip. Spiekeroog has a bit to prove after finishing last in a similarly tactical small field race last time on his handicap debut. His maiden form looks impressive though and this stamina test should bring about an improvement. John Forbes has lots to find on these terms but is in form having won over course and distance last time out and Monahullan Prince will need to find improvement on his UK debut. A handful of runners and an enterprising ride could win it but if this does go to form Penang Princess looks a winner in waiting.
