Verdict

Venturous has won four of his last five outings and already has a verdict over today’s opponents Lord Riddiford, Royal Birth, Lomu and subsequent course and distance winner Lihou. But that was in conditions races and he faces a tougher task on worse terms back in a handicap. TONE THE BARONE also arrives in fine form having returned to action with a victory in this grade at Chelmsford with Nigel Nott behind. Unbeaten on the Polytrack, Stuart Williams’ sprinter has yet to race on this surface but has leading claims if proving as effective.
