Blythe Spirit is the pick to beat the likes of Golden Dixie, Fission and Extra Cover in the claimer. Richard Fahey has already placed Blythe Spirit to good effect this term, the five-year-old having rattled up a hat-trick of wins at Ripon and twice here at Wolverhampton. Those successes saw him creep up the handicap and that fact no doubt contributed to his defeat at Lingfield last time. He still managed to finish third though and in this company will take the beating under Paul Hanagan. Golden Dixie would have claims if recapturing his best form, but he has not even managed a place for some time, while Fission is a bit in and out. Extra Cover will surely have it to do dropped back in trip, and with nothing else standing out, Blythe Spirit has obvious claims.
