He hwas not beaten far on each occasion, and in a race as poor as this must go close. Cool Isle has a course and distance success to his credit, but despite a fair fifth last time, he is thoroughly exposed and doesnt seem to be progressing so is taken on. Veneer hasnt won for over two years but has slipped down the ratings as a consequence. His most recent efforts have been decent, and in the context of this race give him a leading chance, although his previous try at this trip was a disappointment.
