ROWAN LODGE is tough and consistent and is taken to win again at the expense of Lady Calido and Wicked Lady. The selection has already won three times this season but has not been thumped by the handicapper in the process. He landed back to back wins at Carlisle in June and has not been discredited in defeat since. Although he has never won on an all weather surface he has run well on it and while he is in the form of his life right now he is difficult to oppose. Lady Calido is blinkered for the first time to enhance her enthusiasm. She comes form a powerful stable that do well at this track so any market moves should be noted. Wicked Lady has not been seen for over a year but she had run some fine races in defeat. She has proven that she had ability but whether she has retained it or not remains to be seen and the market will be the best guide to her chances on her return. Rowan Lodge never knows how to run a bad race and with luck in running he can add to his winning tally.
