Verdict

My Valentine hasn't looked a straightforward ride in the past and can normally be relied upon to find one or two too good for him, while prolific winner Western Command is a long way below his best at present and makes no appeal from out of the handicap. Scented Air can be forgiven her latest effort as one of her bandages came loose, causing her to lose her action. While she is certainly one to consider, she is not guaranteed to confirm last months form with Spanish Star, who is 12lbs better off (taking into account the apprentice's claim), for just over 2 lengths. However, the one they all have to beat is Marjurita, who was tackling this surface for the first time when beating a useful field here last month. The Handicapper looks to have taken a bit of a chance raising her just 4lbs and she is taken to continue the fine form of her stable.
