Hotalena scored over the minimum trip at Newcastle last time but is raised 4lb and an earlier attempt over this longer trip doesn’t boost confidence. SPLIT ELEVENS ran his best race so far when third at Lingfield, despite having to be switched for a clear run, and he may prove good enough off his current mark with first-time headgear possibly bringing further improvement. Imperial Dawn looks no nearer winning and Desert Mist showed little progress last time when handicapping for the first time but The Good Ting is back on a winning mark having scored at Lingfield during the summer.
