Monsieur Dumas should go well if reproducing his recent Beverley second, however Allaire has a good draw from which to try and dominate from the front and he gets the narrow vote ahead of Cap St Jean. Today's selection is a fair leap in faith given that Allaire has not only shown limited ability, but also a suspect attitude before his races. He should appreciate this slight step up in trip and with JP Guilambert adept from the front, he is fancied to go well. Monsieur Dumas comes here on the back of a close second at Beverley (Cap St Jean in third) and he has been raised a solitary pound for that run, he is threatening to end his winless ten race streak. That pound pull in the weights may not be enough for Cap St Jean to reverse the placings although he didn't get the run of the race on that outing and could be capable of better. Botham has claims if building on a good recent effort when beaten a couple of lengths, whilst blinkers on for the first time mean that Clive Cox's Officer Material should be respected. Autograph Hunter is adept on this surface and as this handicap doesn't look much stronger than his recent claiming run, he could go well, however we will return to Allaire for the selection.
