        Verdict

        Ridgeway Jazz could be one to take on in the opener and we will do so with DESERT HAWK who is preferred to Barodine and Running Buck. Ridgeway Jazz does arrive here in good ofrm but a combination of a high draw and a 6lbs penalty might be enough to find him out. In contrast, Desert Hawk has a good draw and although he looks to have a bit to find with Ridgeway Jazz on their running here last week, he put in a below-par effort that day and Mathew Lawson can use his strength to steer him back to winning ways. Barodine is another that has been done no favours by the draw and although she ran well last time, she has now gone nearly three years without a win. Running Buck is lightly-raced and he tackels this trip for the first time, so he could be of interest, especially as he will get plenty of help from the saddle. A tricky race for punters but we are happy to forward Desert Hawk as the pick.
