This is one of the weakest races on the card and with so many disappointing sorts we will take a chance on the all-weather debutante Imperatrice, Tacid and Doughty could provide most danger. At first glance the selection's form is quite poor, but on closer inspection she has finished well ahead of some much higher rated animals. This is her first time in banded company and if she takes to this surface she could go very close. Tacid is from a yard that has to be respected and although disappointing last time, has claims on her previous victory at Yarmouth. David Wintle's Doughty has contested better events than this and has gone close on a couple of occasions. He is not the most consistent of performers but if on a going day he should be capable of making the frame. Best of the others could be Starcross Maid, but the drop in class could be just what is needed for Imperatrice, who gets our tentative vote.
