Verdict

It is not often a Barney Curley runner wins at 9/1 but Island Green did just that at Kempton last time and he can follow up this afternoon, Just Tilly and Danethorpe could be the main rivals. The selection improved for the step up to mile when beating the good yardstick Bollywood and if in the same mood today he will prove hard to beat. Just Tilly was just two lengths behind the Curley runner in that contest and should get a lot closer this afternoon on five pounds better terms. Meanwhile Danethorpe has a squeak if reproducing the form of his recent thid at Southwell. The best of the rest could be the Tony Carroll trained Flashing Floozie, who ran well behind Owners Biscuits at Kempton last time out. All in all a very difficult race to assess but Island Green just gets the verdict.
