Course experience will count for a lot here and Prince Of Gold, successful here a fortnight ago, is chosen to follow up, with Tayif and Mount Royale the main dangers. Reg Hollinshead's colt was held up off a decent pace, always travelling noticeably well and found plenty under pressure to beat Woodbury a shade comfortably. Today's opposition is of similar quality so another victory looks on the cards. Tayif hasn't raced since June when easily landing a Thirsk handicap, if fit after such long holiday, he should be in the shake up. Mount Royale has put in numerous decent efforts earlier in the season here and at Southwell, once again if fit following a lay off, he should be capable of taking a hand in the finish. Most of the others have questions to answer, so Prince Of Gold is the percentage call and gets the vote.
