Soft ground may have been a legitimate excuse for Al Asef disappointing when favourite at Doncaster last time and it’s too soon to write him off but Midsummer Knight was placed yet again at Newcastle last week and has had plenty of chances now. It remains to be seen if IT’S A WISH can find the improvement necessary to figure after a modest debut third over track and trip but Clive Cox’ filly gets the vote to do so with an apprentice’s allowance helping her cause. Argon and Ingleby Molly are newcomers to note.
