Verdict
Spirit Of Coniston gets the call here ahead of Woodwee, Otis B Driftwood, The Terrier, Little Sparkler and Tombalina. Spirit Of Coniston has shown more than enough form, including when beaten into second off a mark of 62 in a nursery two runs ago, to suggest that he should be a major player here, even though he makes his all-weather debut. Woodwee holds a big chance if he can recapture his midsummer form, and Otis B Driftwood holds claims on his course and distance selling win of July. The Terrier showed improved form last time and has to be considered at this level. Tombalina's narrow second to Pauvic at Lingfield last time gives him a shout, while On The Side will surely be more at home in this company. Finally, Little Sparkler might improve dropped into selling company for the first time and Conciliate has bits of form that suggest he might go well but, overall, we will side with Spirit Of Coniston.
