      Verdict

Armada gets the vote over Digger Boy, with Beldon Hill, Aphorism and Gobi King all worth a mention. Armada has been hard to settle down by all accounts, and indeed was withdrawn on his intended debut at Newmarket after refusing to go in the stalls, but he then posted a promising effort when consenting to line up at Kempton, finishing second to Steppe Dancer. With minimal improvement, he should easily pick up a maiden, and as we know that he can go on a Polytrack surface, Sir Michael Stoute's charge is selected to go one better. Digger Boy seemed to prefer the slower Fibresand surface judged on his recent second at Southwell, but is another that does at least handle the Polytrack, while Beldon Hill, fifth on her Ripon bow over 10 furlongs, may find today's trip too short. Aphorism is a half-sister to the useful Inchrory, and could turn out to be a lot better than an all-weather performer in time, and Gobi King hails from a top yard. This is not a bad maiden for a Saturday night at Wolverhampton, with Armada the pick of the bunch.
