      Verdict

      Crucis Abbey makes more appeal than the more exposed Libertino but neither fills with confidence and it could pay to take a chance on STEP AND FETCH. Ann Duffield's filly ran a typical debutant's race over C&D last month when making up lots of ground in the closing stages after being slowly away. With that experience under her belt she's fancied to open her account here. Misshollygolightly is an intriguing newcomer being a half-sister to multiple course winner John Potts, while a better effort is expected from Amelia's Surprise who was well beaten on her debut at Nottingham in October.
