Kaanoon went close to completing a four-timer at Newmarket on Saturday and THE EMPEROR WITHIN was only beaten a neck by Roger Varian’s colt at Yarmouth last time when Nonios was only fourth. He could have done without a 3lb rise but the extra furlong may bring about further improvement. Oh It's Saucepot has gone close in both starts this season but the feeling remains that she’s still a couple of pounds too high. Quality Seeker won over a mile here on his handicap debut but is not really bred to stay this longer trip while Casement still has some improving to do, though makes more appeal than Metatrons Cube and the disappointing History Writer.
