Three-year-olds have fared badly in this in recent years and Racing History will need to find further improvement to buck the trend, though Not So Sleepy won the Dee Stakes in May and boiled over when well beaten at Royal Ascot subsequently. Al Kazeem won this last year and FASCINATING ROCK (NAP) was second to that one in the Tattersall Gold Cup at the Curragh in May when finishing ahead of the likes of Postponed and The Grey Gatsby. That is top class form and as Dermot Weld's colt goes well fresh he is the one to beat in this, despite his penalty. Cannock Chase looked a bit unlucky at Ascot in June and goes well in the soft so may be the danger, though the filly Mutatis Mutandis could also be prominent back at the right level and is preferred to elevated handicappers Master Carpenter, Rembrandt Van Rijn and Collaboration.
