In depth

Verdict

Chairmanoftheboard was given a canny ride by Rob Hornby when scoring over track and trip 12 days ago but a 6lb rise could be problematic. ICE AGE finished fourth in that race having been hampered at a crucial stage. Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge is no back number and is handicapped to end his losing run dropped a further 2lb. Atalanta's Boy won a lesser race at Chelmsford but had more in hand than the official margin suggested and Thomas Greatrex gets on well with the five-year-old. Amplify got squeezed out at the start at Kempton and will strip fitter here.
