Broughtons Swinger escapes a penalty for her win in an apprentices' race at Newbury last week and has to be one for the short-list again, though this drop in distance probably isn't in her favour. The 1m2f trip has brought the best out of CANAVERAL lately, however, and Brian Meehan's progressive gelding is fancied to complete his hat-trick here after a couple of wins in lesser company at Bath. Goodwood winner Aldwick Bay is also worth a second look, though those behind haven't advertised the form since, but May Be Some Time has a bit to prove after flopping at Haydock. Trend Line has more scope than most and could go close but may just need this outing.
