      Verdict

      Last year's winner Chain Of Daisies is back for another tilt but it is hard to be confident after two underwhelming runs this term, despite the suspicion this will have been the target. Autocratic produced a fine effort to win the Brigadier Gerrard at Sandown in May and can be expected to go well here if soft ground was the key factor in his Haydock no-show last time. Goodwood winner Fabricate should give his running while Frankuus produced his best effort to date last time at Haydock and could be dangerous on the front end. SPARK PLUG however had a couple of these behind at Sandown last month and deserves a shot at this prize, he can take the spoils assuming the ground remains decent.

      Chain Of Daisies 5-4fav (9-5) Led, shaken up over 2f out, ridden and headed over 1f out, rallied inside final furlong, stayed on, just held close home, 2nd of 7, nk behind More Mischief (9-5) at Newcastle 1m 2f lst fll stks (1) pol in Jun.

      Frankuus (IRE) 8-1 (8-9) Made all, clear over 2f out, reduced lead inside final furlong, held on, won at Haydock 1m 2f Grp 3 stks (1) gs in Aug beating Mount Logan (9-3) by 3/4l, 11 ran.
