It was soft going when Oh It's Saucepot scored at Haydock and also when MERCIAN HYMN (NAP) struggled at Goodwood. But the latter was narrowly beaten on fast ground here back in April and can go close again racing off the same mark. Chepstow runner-up Beautiful Crown has something to prove over this far while True Courage finished a bit closer at Ripon having landed a hat-trick last summer.
