Verdict

Rio De La Plata hasn't won since securing back-to-back Group 1 victories in Italy in the autumn of 2010 and barely picked his feet up in three starts in Dubai at the start of the year. He's probably best watched for now. Lay Time has been a little disappointing this year but Primevere would have claims on her close-up third behind Izzi Top at Newmarket in May. Coupe De Ville never seems to run a bad race and wasn't winning out of turn at Newmarket earlier this month but there could be more to come from GRANDEUR. He appeared to have been found out in this grade at Ascot in June but it was easy ground that day and he's much more effective when the hooves are rattling, as demonstrated when defying top weight in a competitive handicap at Goodwood last time.
