In this maiden, we like the look of Evolution Ex ahead of Patronage, Persona, Ashdown Princess and Stellar Brilliant. Evolution Ex has knocked at the door in each of his three starts, including once over course and distance, and this John Gosden inmate is an obvious contender for this maiden. With form that rates on a par with his, Patronage is also an obvious one for the shortlist, along with Persona, who was staying on over a mile here last time and will very likely benefit from that experience and today's trip. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained Stellar Brilliant would be of interest if supported and Ashdown Express's half-sister, Ashdown Princess, is another to give some consideration to. Castle Valentine showed promise on his debut, but the form lacks substance, while Celtic Shadow is well-bred but needs to step up on what he has so far shown, and much as Winter Coral has some classy performers in her pedigree, others are preferred by us today. Chief among these is Evolution Ex.
