Verdict

In an interesting event, Karanja shades the call ahead of Super Lord and Innox. Surely Karanja put any lingering doubts about his attitude behind him when scoring emphatically at Uttoxeter last time. Ok, the bare form might not be exceptional but the impression he left was a good one and he looks a leading player here today. Super Lord looked above average when scoring over course and distance last time and he rates a big danger to all. Miko de Beauchene did not build on his Lingfield win when beaten off a mark of 117 in a handicap last time, and surely the selection is capable of much more than that particular rating. Innox is interesting back over hurdles as he won a Grade 3 chase from a mark of 135 at Cheltenham last time and he stays well. Finally, much as Toemac was disappointing on his hurdling debut, his bumper wins had very much suggested that he is better than that. For today, though, we will stick with Karanja.
