ALWAATN SOUND has travelled down from North Yorkshire having had just the three outings. Despite a tardy start, he won well over 5f at Hamilton on his first start since wind surgery and, though that form is nothing special, he could be well treated on his handicap debut. Otago missed the break at Yarmouth after a fair fourth over course and distance but Sur Mer looked a tricky ride when second at Sandown, though will probably be thereabouts again. Miss Thoughtful was only beaten a neck last time at Yarmouth but The Blue Bower is probably in the handicapper’s grip now.
