Verdict

A tricky finale with the weights headed by Bond Domingo. He has not sparkled for a while but he handled this surface effectively enough as a two-year-old and the Smart camp are in form. Yorkie has been a frustrating sort to follow for his backers. He tries five today but he showed he was able to handle a softer surface when finishing second to Ridicule. He is drawn well and jockey, Richard Hughes, is riding on the crest of a wave. Quantica should handle the ground but whether he is quite so effective over five is a matter of opinion. Birdwatching comes from a stable in form. He has taken time to get going this year but with the Williams camp in such hot form, the market may speak in his favour despite a draw of five.
