CRUSHED was only beaten a neck over this trip on his reappearance at Doncaster. He’s raced over 1m4f in two subsequent starts so is preferred to Sandy Shores, who was quite impressive over a mile here last time but flopped when tried over this course and distance in June. Secret Soul was only third when favourite here last month and is 3lb higher but Flood Defence is well worth a try over this longer trip and makes more appeal than Evening Hill and Ingleby Mackenzie, who has been racing over further.
