A One keeps on defying the handicapper and we are loathe to pick against him, however Maclean is well treated and is taken to land the spoils, with Nautical also in with a shout. Sir Michael Stoute's gelding contested a hot Newmarket handicap last week and wasn't disgraced going down by just over a length to the improving Tableau. His previous handicap form is also rock solid and he will take all the beating here. A One was most impressive when landing his fifth race of the campaign over course and distance seven days ago and it would be no surprise to see him go very close again. Nautical looks very well treated on his best form and is another to consider, but the overall form of Maclean is the strongest and he gets our vote.
