In depth

Verdict

Silverburn can give Paul Nicholls another bumper winner, with High Calibre, Ballinabearna, Fixed Interest and I'm Free other interesting runners. Silverburn was sent off favourite here three weeks ago but was beaten in a photo by fellow debutante Barbers Shop, in the Queen's colours. There was not a great deal wrong with that effort, and this full-brother to Denman should have little difficulty opening his account here before going on to better things. Whether he matches his more illustrious sibling remains to be seen, but he looks just the sort to follow when eventually going chasing. High Calibre runs in the famous Gay Smith colours and is sure to attract support but he does not look that special on breeding, while Ballinabearna makes the trip over from Ireland so has to be respected. Fixed Interest hails from a patient yard so will be brought along steadily, while I'm Free is the biggest enigma with the Pipe stable out of sorts. All in all, this looks destined to go to Silverburn who can complete a good day for the Nicholls camp.
