BROOK (NAP) probably needed his first run for David Pipe at Chepstow in October and made no mistake when well backed at Newbury earlier this month. The opposition may have been modest on that occasion but he could do no more than win easily and he should beat the older Otago Trail in receipt of 11lb. The latter was also impressive when scoring by 15 lengths at Carlisle but dropping back in distance on a sharper track may not suit. Triple Chief wasn't disgraced on his hurdling debut at Kempton and has scope while the J P McManus newcomer Scoop The Pot is worth monitoring for market support as he has an interesting pedigree.
