Verdict

Fluff 'n' Puff has the best looking credentials for this race having run well of late, been a reliable completer in most of his starts and will enjoy this ground. He is the selection however the stable's recent form is woeful and this factor should be taken into account when assessing a fair price for the gelding. Free Return has not set the world on fire since being sent chasing but has shown steady improvement and should be able to put up a good account of himself in a weaker race than he has been competing in of late. He showed in his hurdling days he can cope with a fast surface and could give the selection most to do. Tom's River would have a chance on his form of last season but has been in woeful form of late and may be best watched here. Dick McCarthy had been running confidently earlier in the season and has form on this surface. His recent form though is poor and this trip looks inadequate.
