Winning pointer Zamparelli has shown a bit of promise under Rules but this drop in distance is probably not what’s required. Stablemate Embole was a fair third on his hurdling debut at Newcastle but then finished tailed off when upped in grade at Huntingdon. This looks far easier but Paul Nicholls may have found a decent opportunity for French import SAO, a half-brother to the stable’s smart hurdler/chaser Frodon. A Triumph Hurdle entry, he won at Compeigne last year for Guillaume Macaire and has plenty of scope.
