It’s almost three years since CHEQUE EN BLANC last ran over the smaller obstacles but he can race off his chase mark in this and has obvious claims. Just Go For It bolted up in a lower grade at Hereford 11 days ago and it’s no surprise to see him turned out quickly under a penalty given he’ll be higher in the weights when reassessed. Certainly Red is 0-11 but the handicapper is finally starting to show him some mercy and he has more scope than Flowing Cadenza, who is likely to find at least a couple too good again. Recent winners Hardy Articos and Lightonthewing are others who can’t be left out of calculations.
