This looks a bit more competitive than the opener, but once again it should pay to concentrate on the stable of Paul Nicholls who supplies the likely favourite Opal'lou who is expected to have the measure of Call Me Sonic, Lord Warford and The Hearty Joker. Opal'lou has twice gone close to opening his account since coming over from France and indeed was only denied a short head by Artic Gamble over three miles and a furlong here last time. He certainly handled the fast ground on that occasion and will do so again. Not badly treated for only his second run in handicap company, the seven-year-old is the one to beat. Call Me Sonic has to concede weight all round, while Lord Warford does does not appeal on the evidence so far. Of the rest, Hearty Joker is consistent but has eight lengths to find with Opal'lou on their running last time.
