Cappadrummin looks to be one of the lesser lights in Nicky Henderson's stable so is probably worth taking on under top weight which we do with recent Cheltenham winner Heron's Ghyll, who gets the nod over Artemise. The last mentioned won well over course and distance on Boxing Day but has been put up 17lbs for that and faces a stiffer task now. Blue Leader has not been seen since winning at Fakenham in October but goes well when fresh and more of a problem could be the 8lb higher mark that he has to race off now. Martin Pipe's Ile Michel is unexposed over hurdles but was well beaten last time and is difficult to recommend and a bigger threat may come from The Gene Genie who is inconsistent but goes well here. However, the Venetia Williams-trained Heron's Ghyll was good value for his success at Cheltenham on his handicap debut on New Year's Eve and is fancied to defy his 7lb penalty.
