In depth

Verdict

Daymar Bay was impressive in the way he strode clear of his rivals on his debut on the Polytrack at Lingfield. He should handle the switch to turf and is narrowly preferred to the other previous winner Shuil Royale, who was all out to hold off Cresswell Crusader at Warwick. Traditional Bob hasn't run since finishing second at Stratford last May and there are several newcomers in this with a lot more scope. They include Sleepy, who is related to several winners in France, and the Flat-bred Tiagra. But the one to be on may be ST BLAZEY who, as a full brother to Paul Nicholls' classy jumper Thisthatandtother, should be proficient in this sphere and is the choice of Nick Schofield ahead of stablemate Mousenikov.
