      In depth

      Verdict

Bobbie Magern looked promising early last year but went backwards and showed nothing on his chasing debut here last month. Carrickmines has won six times over fences but never in 18 starts over timber which is why he's on a 24lb lower mark and is no forlorn hope. COOL STEEL showed absolutely nothing before making his handicap debut at Southwell where he improved dramatically. He's been raised 4lb for that but looks on a very fair mark and can take this. Water Garden looks a major threat as he was conceding 10lb to Azione when staying on into the runners-up spot over 2m1f at Exeter and this trip looks certain to suit.
