In depth

Verdict

Paul Nolan won this last year but today's representative, Articular, is the only winner in the field and is penalised as a result. His victory came by a short-head in a Thurles bumper and the concession of 5lb to FOLSOM BLUE may be beyond him as Conor O'Dwyer's charge has shown plenty of ability in bumpers and between the flags. Ruby Walsh was on board Waterloo Rock at Cork two weeks ago and though the partnership never troubled the leaders this is a weaker event and better is expected. Old Laxey showed promise in points and has a pedigree suited to hurdling so he's another to keep an eye on along with recent Tinahely winner Dawn Commander.
