Smithscorner was impressive when landing a course and distance handicap last month for which he was raised 9lb. He started favourite at Killarney last week but made a mistake at the first, which unsettled him, and he never got involved. SHANPALLAS is on a 14lb lower mark than over hurdles and though he hasn't won for a long time and his form figures don't leap out he's been running in better company and the assessor has given him a chance. Fenlon's Hill hasn't won since May last year but is still 3lb higher while My Manekineko, three times a winner over hurdles, has never scored over fences but is still on a higher mark. Successor ran well enough on his only handicap start over fences on New Year's Eve and will be better for his recent comeback.
