APPLE ROCK went clear with another improver at Carlisle and just landed the spoils. His penalty is wiped out by Luca Morgan’s claim and he’ll be 4lb higher in the ratings from next week. Apache Creek won a lower grade contest at Perth and is 6lb higher but is still respected with more to come. Dog Of War was a disappointing favourite at Southwell in August, however, and Blaster Yeats was also well beaten when market leader at Sedgefield while Wincanton winner Hahadi has a quick turnaround having finished second at Taunton on Wednesday.
