Verdict

A race to view with an eye to the future, so Cornerback is only a tenative selection; Aintnonancy and Bonneta are others for the shortlist, while Golden Run shaped with promise when she raced at Hexham last month and is also worthy of consideration. The last named is going the right way and can find a race before too long. Andrew Adams helps the cause with his 10lb claim and it would hardly be a shock were the daughter of Commanche Run to sneak into a place. Bonneta has the benefit of a run behind her and is likely to step things up a notch today. However, she will be seen to better effect when she is stepped up in trip, so she is one to keep tabs on whatever happens. Aintnonancy was a convincing winner at Bangor when she was last seen out and has to be respected in spite of picking up a 7lb penalty. As a half-sister to Optimistic Alfie, the Charlie Morlock-trained mare should also be suited by a good test in due course and can be placed to good effect from here. Nevertheless, Cornerback takes the eye on breeding and, with her yard in good form with their runners in races of this nature, the daughter of Bob Back looks worth chancing at the likely odds.
