In depth

Verdict

Hunters Tweed, Joe Blake and Navarone look the three to concentrate on in another tight affair and the tentative vote goes to Hunters Tweed. The selection would win this easily at his best but he has been very disappointing for no apparent reason of late. However he goes well at this track and in the hope that first time french blinkers revives his enthusiasm he is taken to score under conditions that suit. Joe Blake rates the main danger he was a fair fourth behind Perfect Fellow last time but that form has since been let down. However if Hunters Tweed does not come up to scratch he looks the most likely to benefit. Navarone was a fair second behind Creative Time last time out and is another with place claims but his best efforts have come with more cut in the ground. Of the remainder Virgin Solider is on a fair mark and could run well at a price but for the winner we return to Hunters Tweed.
